Self Esteem — Seeing Yourself Through God’s Word

What if the way you see yourself is not the way God sees you?

Self-esteem is often discussed from psychological, cultural, and social perspectives. But what does God’s Word actually say about how we should understand ourselves?

In this course, we examine self-esteem from a biblical perspective, exposing unhealthy patterns of self-perception and replacing worldly definitions with the truth of God’s Word.

Through three progressive lessons, you will examine what self-esteem actually means, confront unhealthy expressions of low self-esteem, and learn to approach your identity and worth according to God’s perspective.

This is not simply a course about feeling better about yourself.

It is about learning to see yourself correctly.

Foundations of Biblical Self-Esteem
Before low self-esteem can be properly addressed, we must first understand what self-esteem actually is and how it affects the way we live. This topic establishes the foundation of the course by examining how we define ourselves, the different ways low self-esteem manifests, and why unhealthy self-perception can become destructive when it is left unchecked. The goal is not merely to make people “feel better” about themselves, but to expose the beliefs and thought patterns behind an unhealthy view of self.

Rebuilding Your Thinking with God’s Word
Now we move from identifying the problem to dealing with what is happening underneath it. Because it is not enough to say: “I need more confidence.” The deeper question is: Why do you think the way you think about yourself? There are beliefs underneath your emotions. There are conclusions underneath your insecurities. There are thought patterns that may have been built over several years. And if those patterns were built through repeated lies, they have to be confronted with truth. So in this section, we are going to talk about faith, the thinking patterns of this world, the lies you may have accepted about yourself, and how God's Word begins to dismantle faulty ways of thinking.
